My old UPS finally died and I ended up with a pretty good unit from Belkin,
1200 VA, about 760 watts. It links into Windows very nicely over a serial
port or USB (which I now use) line.
The CD has a driver for SCO Open Server and it installs, but as it turns out
it is only certified for remotes, not local. It did seem to run (almost)
and I was able to even bring their icon into a graphics desktop, but nothing
beyond that.
Belkin has, on their website, a driver they recommend for SCO Open Server,
which is actually a Red Hat Linux program. It fails to install at all, just
printing most of the install script on the screen and ending with an error
saying that an argument was expected. Also, in looking at the install
script, it references some acceptable serial ports, but not as defined by
Open Server.
Has anyone tried to install the Belkin program on Open Server 5.0.6?
By the way, when I needed to move the downloaded program (compressed or
zipped) to Unix, it was larger than one floppy, and not having access to my
NTFS file system from Open Server, I made a CD in Windows and was able to
read that from Open Server after mounting the CD drive.
Thanks for any comments,
