I remember the Time Machine but my father used a reel to reel B&W video
recorder using 1/2" tape for developing educational programs. An 8" reel
would provide about 15 minutes of viewing - no helical heads here, just
tape zipping past stationary heads. I think the deck was made by RCA but
can't be sure.

I remember the old 8 track Quad tapes - sounded pretty awesome but recorded
media was in short supply.
