SCSI Scanner on SCO openserver error

When I try to use the scanner (run scancmd) I get the following error:
"WARNING: Sscn: SCSI host adapter error : 22"

I have an HP NetServer E60 with SCSI disk & tape on one channel and a
scsi scanner on a second channel.
During the boot process I see that all the scsi devices show up.
The openserver is version 5.05 and the scanner software is easyscan.

Does anyone has any idea how to troubleshoot this one?
I have no experience in scsi devices on openserver and I am really
lost. Please help.
