Quite often duplex mis-matches give very slow transmit time
but not hangs. That's because one side is using HDX which by
definition uses collision sensing to see if the 'coast is clear' ,
and the FDX side never bothers to look for anything on the line as
it knows it can transmit anytime it wants. So it is transmitting
when the other side is trying to transmit, and that
results in damaged packets and retransmissions.
