Err, well yes I think it is a factor. It depends on whether you are talking
about stability as in "it just runs and runs and rarely needs a reboot" in
which case I have no compaints about either OS*, or whether you mean
stability as in "what I buy today will be what's for sale tomorrow" in which
case I personally feel that OpenServer is perhaps a bit too stable, and for
some Linux is a bit too dynamic**.

* I have a RedHat 6.2 system on 430 days uptime, it would be 900 days if it
weren't for a power cut 430 days ago. The SCO box is currently on 70+ days,
and that's because (IIRC) I 'accidentally' shut it down when the electricians
were doing the installation tests.

** There is no doubt that whilst the pace of development means that there is
lots of new stuff in there, as other have pointed out, it doesn't make for
ease of support if no two installed systems are the same.
