If its a delay in the password prompt appearing, you very likely have the
file
/etc/auth/systemttys-t or ttys-o which has not been removed.
Try tunning /etc/tcbck.
(I have a script running which checks for this files continued existence,
and automatically kicks of tcbck - it runs about once or twice a week)
