| I finally was able to upgrade my client's server to 5.0.7 Enterprise from
| 5.0.4 Host. The upgrade went without any problems and Medical Manager
| worked fine after the upgrade.
|
| There are a few things that didnt work quite as expected though. Any help
| you all can give would be great.
|
| Medical Manager uses an external modem for electronic billing. Its on COM2.
| For some unknown reason, the modem has stopped dialing out. And, it won't
| give a login prompt after a dial-in. I've done "cu -ltty2A dir" and it
| connects, but won't allow me to perform any AT commands. If I "disable
| tty2A" the modem will not answer the incoming call, but after "enable tty2A"
| it does.

In what way does it "disallow" any AT commands?

| I'm using a DIGI TS-16 for serial connectivity to the server. Mostly for
| printing. After the upgrade, I installed the drivers for the TS-16 and
| re-assigned the printers to print to the associated port's in scoadmin
| (ttya01, 02, etc). When I do a "date>ttya01" I get data to the printer
| however its all wierd characters and it won't automatically print. I have
| to press the "Go" button (Its a HP LJ 4000). The two dot matrix printers
| don't print at all.

Isn't there a _printer_ device name similar to ttya01, but containing the
letter 'p'? Have you tried setting it up as a spooled Unix printer?

| Sorry for the long post, hopefully someone can point me in the right
| direction with these things. ;)

Long? Hardly....
