I use scoadmin printer to add a new printer to this particular system.
Everything looks OK but an lpstat -t command looks like this:

HP40501:
                queuing is enabled
Printer Status: Online
scheduler is running
system default destination: main
device for main: /dev/null
device for main1: /dev/null
device for main3: /dev/null
main accepting requests since Tue Jun 10 13:24:57 2003
main1 accepting requests since Tue Jun 10 13:25:54 2003
main3 accepting requests since Tue Jun 10 13:26:17 2003
madill accepting requests since Thu Oct 21 13:38:20 2004
fct_office accepting requests since Tue Jun 11 10:59:30 2002
fct_terry_ti accepting requests since Wed Feb 18 14:35:15 2004
printer main is idle. enabled since Tue Jun 10 13:24:57 2003. available.
printer main1 is idle. enabled since Tue Jun 10 13:25:54 2003. available.
printer main3 is idle. enabled since Tue Jun 10 13:26:17 2003. available.
printer madill is idle. enabled since Thu Oct 21 13:38:26 2004. available.
printer fct_office is idle. enabled since Tue Jun 11 10:59:30 2002.
available.
printer fct_terry_ti is idle. enabled since Wed Feb 18 14:35:15 2004.
available.

I am missing the device for madill although I specified it when adding the
printer. We are using netcat to print and no matter how many new printers I
add they won't display the device. They also won't print. When you go back
into scoadmin printer it does not list the new printer.

Any ideas?
