    | I have to update my software with a CDRom sent to me by my software house.
    | I start as usual on the server machine, that never gave me problems (but
    | before I used 506), now during the updating there is the following problem:
    | "Error during decompression of the following file ...." and the updating
    | stops.
    |
    | I think the problem can be on the fisical cd diskette or on the cd reader.
    | In my opionion the cd diskette it's ok because even another time tere was
    | the same error I solved with updating by web but this is the major realise
    | and I cannot update it by web.
    |
    | Is there a way to work as follows:
    | I will work on my WinXP and put on cdreader the cd lector
    | I connect to Sco server with Vision
    | and I work as usual.
    | so I can understand if the problem is on the cd diskette they sent to me or
    | to the cd reader.
    |
    | The problem is I cannot know how when I connect to the sco machine to tell
    | to mount the cd reader that is on my winXP machine
    |
    | Can you help me ?

I cannot think of any way to read a Windows-CD-drive across the LAN from
Unix, with VisionFS or any other technique.

Did you try to copy the CD onto your Unix machine?
