| I replaced a DAT 12/24 with a DAT 20/40 on a 5.0.5 system. The 12/24 was
| on an Adaptec controller, the 20/40 is on an LSI (slha).
|
| I used to be able to do a "tape getcomp" command to find the compression
| setting of the drive.
|
| Now, when I do the same command I get:
| tape: unable to do 'getcomp' command on '/dev/xct0' : Invalid argument
|
| Is there something inherently different about 20/40 drives, is the LSI
| driver cause a problem?

Since you switched adapters, is the tape still at /dev/xct0, and not for
example at /dev/xct1? In which case, edit /etit /etc/default/tape.

Have you tried 'edge.tape -t' ?
