    Seems that this error just meant the drive is locked with the tape in, and
    if I manually eject it (by pushing the button), the changer responds
    correctly to mccntl -e 1 and puts the tape back in the magazine. This seems
    to me that the HW is all fine. I still can't figure out why asetup has the
    I/O errors, but if I just ignore them and let asetup search for my library
    it seems to play along OK. Go figure!
