I can get debug output (in chan.log) with the SCO submit binary, but nothing
(even at FTR) with the one I downloaded from ftp.armory.com.

Unfortunately, this requires gawk - this system is vary basic with minimal
additions.

BTW - the web page www.armory.com/~ftp/#/pub/admin is out of sync with the
ftp site - it says that awkmail is in the mmdf directory.

Thanks for being so patient, but I've now persuaded the other system to
accept domain-less addresses from this host - which to all intents and
purposes fixes teh problem for me. Though it would be more satisfying to do
the job properly !
