| | I'm missing many (most?) of the X11 related manual pages on my OSR6
| | system. I thought I'd remembered seeing something about this in the
| | MP1 release notes or in this group and assumed it was something that
| | would be fixed with MP2. Missing are the majority of man pages from
| | the XC section, xwd, xsetroot, xclock, xcalc, xbiff, among others. All
| | of the X develpment system pages are missing as well. The only X
| | related sections in /usr/man are XC and Xm, while a OSR507 system I
| | maintain contains XC, XS, Xext, Xm, Xmu, and Xt sections.
| |
| | I've tried installing the graphical documentation from the install CD
| | but I'm told everything is already installed. Is anyone else missing
| | this stuff?
|
| I find that many SCO-specific man pages are (still) in the XC
| and Xm sections, while everything else is under the N numerical
| man subdirectories, instead of the SCO_Unix letter-designated
| subdirectoriess. E.g., 'man xbiff': the first thing in the upper-left
| corner is " XBIFF(1)"; the man page for XSetTextProperty, which
| identifies itself as XSetTextProperty(XS) on OSR 5, shows up in OSR 6 as
| XSetTextProperty(3X11). A few pages have two entries on OSR 6, e.g.
| there's an xrdb(XC) page as well as an xrdb(1) page.
And they're in /usr/X11R6/man rather than in /usr/man.
I've embarrassed myself again. I added my own MANPATH entry to
/etc/default/man and failed to include /usr/X11R6/man. Thanks for
setting me straight.
