To answer my own question before, about what's a good font to use in
terminal emulators, with FacetWin Mono given as the best example, except
without stealing from FacetWin?
I have arrived at Andale Mono, which is what FacetWin Mono was derived from.
Andale Mono used to be distributed with Internet Explorer and thus Windows,
is freely downloadable here:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/andale32.exe?download
I prefer to use Lucida Console, which I find very easy to read and has
none of the computerish quirks of Andale Mono (like the 'l' [el] and the '0' [zero]).
And yes, you can still distinguish 'el' vs. 'one' and 'O' vs. 'zero'.
