Oops, I see that the link today only lists the patches. The file you are
looking for is:

-r-xr-xr-x 1 root bin 6547456 Sep 7 2001 vfsos5.tar

Okay, thanks. Any clues as to where that might be ? I don't see it
anywhere on the FTP site.

to install 3.10.905 then apply the patch:

-r-xr-xr-x 1 root bin 2363392 Sep 20 2001 patch-vfs-i3sco0325-3.10.911

I found a copy this way, which may dissappear at any moment:
search vfsos5.tar on alltheweb.com
that gets you 3.10.905 and the sco ftp site gets you to 3.10.911

Thanks so much for that. I grabbed it, and it does match Steve's file
(above) byte-size, so it's looking good.

But I can only think of one reason to ever waste 2 seconds on visionfs, as far as I know it's the only smb client for osr5 that can mount an smb share as a filesystem like an nfs share.
FacetWin and Samba both have an ftp-like client, but samba's smbmount isn't functional on osr5 (or almost any other os but linux, does it even work in freebsd?), and FacetWin never had the feature.
I've never needed or missed it though, despite doing plenty of different win/unix integration things over the years. I was always able to get things done with the ftp-like clients or various other means that might have nothing to do with smb.

I've just found visionfs handy for Windows users to get stuff from the
SCO box, that's all, and I needed to either upgrade it or replace it
with Samba.

Thanks again.
