unixware printing issue

My previous message re removing cups to solve a network printing issue
appears to be wrong - my problem is not solved.
I am trying to print invoices to a canon ir5050.
I have the same printer set up identically on an old server running UnixWare
7.1.1 and on a new server running UnixWare 7.1.4 with mp4.
root:/dev/pts015: lpstat -t | grep ir5
system for ir5050: ir5050 (as printer raw)
ir5050 accepting requests since Fri Nov 21 12:29:03 EST 2008
printer ir5050 is idle. enabled since Sat Nov 22 10:23:15 EST 2008.
available.
It works fine on the old system. On the new system, if I send one print at
a time, it works. If I send a number of invoices all at once, each one is a
separate spool job, and the printer will print 3 or 4 jobs, and then stop.
I then discover lpNet tasks that are hung. I cannot lpshut or lpstat till I
kill these tasks.
Can anyone help solve this issue.
