Chap,

You are correct. I want to strip - the CR but leave the LF intact.

As you suggested, I am dealing with a file that is placed on my UNIX
server via a directory that is mounted under Windows.

So - when you save the file from Windows you end up with the CR/LF pair
instead of the standard LF that UNIX uses.

I'd still like to know if there is a way to accomplich this from within
the ed command itself as opposed to piping input to the ed command via
a print statement.
