I started to check into that and ended up twiddling with a few setting
and all of a sudden it came up. I don't really know what I've done
different. I had been able to get the actual desktop to appear, but the
front panel would never display. Now it is. Some day I'll figure this
all out. For now I'm must glad it is working.
