I'm fairly new to solars, however with my experience with other unices,
I've found it useful to have multiple partitions. If something happens to
kill the box, such as sudden power failure, or part of the disc goes
"dodgy"(gains bad blocks), what happens then?
is the file system that robust that it doesn't ever have problems with
this type of thing? or are you giving this advise for convenience?
I've currently got my sol9 system installed across 2 discs, 1 for / and 1
for /var. I was thinking of installing and splitting everything across
multiple partitions, is this ill advised?
thanks for your help,
adrian
