Sum, mail that recognizes the "-s" flag, vipw, ps, chown, ... The
reason these versions exist is for backwards and cross-platform
compatibility. I keep /usr/ucb at the front of my PATH so these
utilities behave the same across Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux, etc.

You'd need an RFE for backwards compatibility in that case, something
that Sun learned the hard way (with Solaris 2.0) doesn't go over
too well with end users. Backwards compatibility is also one of
Solaris' big selling points over the free Unix'.
