Hello,
Im looking for some help. I am starting to look around at other options in
the world beyond Windows. Ive grown up on Windows NT/2K mostly and now XP
Pro, but recently walked through the local Apple store, and also downloaded
Solaris. Seeing as im still playing and looking id like to set up a
dual-boot system with Solaris 9. Ive worked a (very) little on some unix
flavour back in school.
I dl'ed the iso's and burned off the discs. The 1 of 2, 2 of 2 and Install
discs. When i try putting the disc in and booting from it though (1 of 2 or
Install) it boots up to a blue screen saying something ~AunOS Installer
vsn2.0
It has a little blinking cursor a few lines down, and thats all it ever
does. It will sit there like that for at least an hour (thats as long as i
gave it before killing it).
If someone could please tell me how to get it installed, and also what all i
need to do/consider in trying to make a dual boot system with Solaris and XP
Pro. I am very comfortable with the command prompt, and am a programmer, so
feel free to get some technical.
Thanks in advance,
- Aaron.
