That's very strange. The reason I assumed you had a switch is because
if you've only got two active NICs connected by a hub my gut feeling is
that both NICs should be reporting a similar number of collisions. But
you've got about a 20:1 difference between the two ends of the wire.
That seems really odd to me. Especially coupled with the fact that your
network isn't heavily loaded. If you're all up to date with the latest
hme NIC driver patches, then I'd suspect some sort of bug in pcn or
a defective hub.
BTW, I had a SMC 3605T hub that never seemed to work well and turned itself
into a doorstop in less than 6 months. I replaced it with a cheap FS105 switch
which has worked flawlessly for over a year.
