Thanks to everyone for the help. The key was to use the -net
installation even though only a single machine was involved.
I guess the nomenclature threw me off -- it's more a shared
installation than necessarily a networked installation.

Michael,
I was in fact installing v6, but at your suggestion I'll look
at getting v7. Are there particular benefits that you especially
like?
