Thanks Dom-
Just did some quick reading on SAM-FS and it does mention client
software installation (with patches if necessary). Also there's a
limitation of only 10 clients per server. But pretty interesting,
none the less.
My thoughts now are looking at doing a remote ufsdump with gzip (which
is approved) compression remotely to the backup server disks. Then
let the server software uncompress and archive it to tape. I just
need to figure out recovery strategy so the client can restore data...
