    Hi all,

    I have a problem with Ctrl-C on Solaris. On several of our systems,
    Ctrl-C doesn't work as expected. I can run "top", and break out of it
    with ^C, but other programs don't work the same. For instance, if I
    run "iostat -xn 15", and then hit ^C, all I get is the characters "^C"
    appearing on the screen. I have to then use ^Z, and kill the process
    from the shell, which is driving me mad.

    The same thing happens if I try assigning "intr" to another key
    combination like ^H.

    I have tried with Putty/SSH.com/Mindterm over SSH, and through the
    terminal server connected to the system console. All with the same
    results.

    I have found several mentions of this on the 'net, but no answers to
    the problem. Here is my setup :-

    # uname -a
    SunOS xxxxxx 5.8 Generic_108528-27 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210
    # stty -a
    speed 9600 baud;
    rows = 24; columns = 80; ypixels = 0; xpixels = 0;
    csdata ?
    eucw 1:0:0:0, scrw 1:0:0:0
    intr = ^c; quit = ^\; erase = ^?; kill = ^u;
    eof = ^d; eol = <undef>; eol2 = <undef>; swtch = <undef>;
    start = ^q; stop = ^s; susp = ^z; dsusp = ^y;
    rprnt = ^r; flush = ^o; werase = ^w; lnext = ^v;
    -parenb -parodd cs8 -cstopb -hupcl cread -clocal -loblk -crtscts
    -crtsxoff -parext
    -ignbrk brkint -ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl
    -iuclc
    ixon -ixany -ixoff imaxbel
    isig icanon -xcase echo echoe echok -echonl -noflsh
    -tostop echoctl -echoprt echoke -defecho -flusho -pendin iexten
    opost -olcuc onlcr -ocrnl -onocr -onlret -ofill -ofdel tab3

    I have also tried resetting any traps that may be present, again the
    problem continues.

    Has anyone seen this, and if so - how did you solve it ?

    Many thanks in advance for any information, pointers etc.

    -Mark
