Not quite true. At the beginning HCL list(I mean only Solaris 9 HCL
list, but the remarks shoud be generally true I suppose) was rather
short. The LACK of for example Adaptec 2940UW on the list in the past
did not mean, that there are no drivers supporting this Adaptec adapter,
but that nobody did not test it yet.
Concluding, the true list of supported hardware is for sure longer than
the actual HCL list.
It is clear , that for some devices, like Firewire etc , the drivers
were missing or are missing, this is why there are no supported hardware
on the list.

Not quite true. I have some devices not shown on the list, which work
fine. but I did not have time to submit it.
