    Hi,

    I know that this topic has been covered many times in various NGs, however I
    can't seem
    to find any answer. I have a Sun Blade 1000 with dual UPA based Elite 3Dm6
    framebuffers.
    The devices are being recognised fine by the OS ( Solaris 9 08/03 with patch
    cluster downloaded
    and installed yesterday kernel patch level117171-07). Here is an extract
    from /etc/path_to_inst;

    bash-2.05$ grep afb /etc/path_to_inst
    "/upa@8,480000/SUNW,afb@0,0" 0 "afb"
    "/upa@8,480000/SUNW,afb@1,0" 1 "afb"

    Here is my /etc/dt/config/Xservers;

    # tail -1 /etc/dt/config/Xservers
    :0 Local local_uid@console root /usr/openwin/bin/Xsun :0 -nobanner -dev
    /dev/fbs/afb0 defdepth 24 -dev /dev/fbs/afb1 defdepth 24 +xinerama -nobanner

    When the machine boots up I get a console on the primary (afb0) framebuffer,
    however the console
    login prompt does not come up, nor does dtlogin start successfully. There is
    nothing in /var/dt/Xerrors
    to indicate what went wrong. If I manually execute, I get the following
    errors;

    # /etc/rc2.d/S99dtlogin start
    # tail -f /var/dt/Xerrors

    Sat Aug 7 11:31:16 2004
    error (pid 287): Hung in XOpenDisplay(:0) attempt #1, aborting.

    Sat Aug 7 11:31:16 2004
    error (pid 287): Server open attempt #1 failed for :0, giving up
    ^C

    I have tried just about every permutation in this file including having only
    a
    single head - without any success.

    I have not tried removing the second Elite3Dm6 yet, because I
    want to get the dual display up and running. I would appreciate
    any tips.

    Thanks and regards,
    Andrew

    Thanks and regards,
    Andrew
