I was left with the belief that the cause of the illness *are* the
spammers. You can't 'fix' them, but you can prevent their spam. Going
to a blackhole list, they just find another open relay, so it's a
constant game of catching up with them. Except that the spammers are
always a step ahead. So then you're not fighting the problem
proactively, but reactively.
