Hello All,
I'm trying to cron a computer restart and I've put the command
"shutdown -y -i6" in the crontab file. I tried that for the crontab of user
root or for the user normally using the machine. Neither of the two are
working : I keep getting the message
# mail

/etc/shutdown: You must be logged onto the console (/dev/console) and be
using virtual terminal 0 in order to shut the system down.
*************************************************
Cron: The previous message is the standard output
and standard error of your cron command:
/etc/shutdown -y -i6
I don't know what to let the shutdown command working from another VT... Has
anyone an idea ?
the uname command returns the following
ucg:2_14/usr/ucg>uname -a
ucg ucg 3.2 2 i386
It is an old Interactive Unix (SunSoft, 1990)
Thanks !
Matt
