Kill a listener on a specific port

Is there any way to kill a listener on a specific port? I am running
a process (that is under development) that is listening on a specific
port. If it crashes (or has some other unexpected termination) the
process is gone, but it can take the O/S upto 5 or 10 minutes to stop
listening on the port. This, of course, prevents me from restarting
the process until the O/S releases the port.

I am hoping there is some easy way of doing that that I, as a very
novice Solaris person, does not know of.

Thanks!
