You are using a variant of FreeBSD which most certainly feels like UNIX
and for the most part is POSIX compliant. BTW, what shell does OS-X
provide? tcsh is the default on FreeBSD now although they call it csh.

It still ain't UNIX and Apple has no right to call it that. There is a
difference between you and me calling an OS UNIX and a corporation doing
that.

I have installed Slackware Linux on several PCs set up to use KDE. The
background is Bliss.jpg converted from Microsfot's Bliss.bmp. Appropriate
icons were added to the "desktop" for the usual functions. Were the users
running Windows?

On the rare occasion that I use Windows my wallpaper is SolarisLogo.pm
converted to SolarisLogo.jpg. Does that mean that I am then running
Solaris instead of Windows?
