There is a 2-node sun cluster running solaris 5.8 in a data centre of a
MNC in a big city in Europe. Management wants me take on the entire
onus of the system administration of this cluster. The cluster runs
Oracle 9i RAC with which I am quite familiar and comfortable. My level
of expertise with Solaris sysadmin is not advanced but I can hire a
experienced sysadmin in my location which is several thousand miles
away from this data centre.

I cannot expect any help from the people in the data centre other than
giving them dumb instructions like 'insert CD into CDROM drive' etc.

I would need to be responsible for absolutely everything about this
server including

a) administering patch and full fledged solaris upgrades
b) security upgrades and patches
c) network administration of this cluster
d) performance management

I need to submit a report to my management, whether this is feasible or
not.

Secondly, I need to recommend what are the pre-requisites before I can
take on the sysadmin responsibility, like access to console etc (i
don't know how to do this)

Lastly, I need to list down what are the risks of such an arrangement
Can you please give me your valuable views on this?
