Rich, I know the fact that expertise is needed to take on such a task.

I was looking for some helpful pointers and overview of pre-requisites
and infrastructure that needs to be put in place.

Those pointers would help me to start reading up and putting in place
the necessary infrastructure.

If I just needed to know that I need to do a lot of reading, I would
not have posted the question here

If you've got some useful TECHNICAL INFO to add, do post it here. Keep
the rest of your opinions about what you think I should and should not
do to yourself.
