DVD ISO Images and lofi?

Does anybody know whether the procedure referenced here

works the same for a DVD ISO as for a CD ISO?

That is, is the vtoc the same size, and can one get the miniroot
separated in an analogous manner?

If it does not work as written, how would one proceed differently to
acheive the same result when using an image of DVD media?
