I hate to do a "me too" post here, but I'm experiencing the same
problem on the console of my system. Makes me think this is not really
an XDMCP issue.
I have an Ultra 30, with an old, crufty Type 4 keyboard. USB mouse.
Everything works fine in CDE: Mozilla, Gaim, &c.
Under the Java Desktop no characters appear. When I open up a
terminal, the cursor registers that I type (it kinda blinks at the same
time as me hitting a key), but no text. Doesn't matter whether XBD is
enabled or not, doesn't matter the locale. XTerms don't work either.
Makes me think it is a Metacity problem (does Java Desktop use
metacity?).
Thanks,
clark
