Yes, once the mirror has been fully synched and perhaps re-mounted onced.
But breaking apart the mirror or disabling second sub-mirror is not the
best solution today. Using second sub-mirror to do a ufsdump/tar/cpio
does impose a lengthy re-syncronisation sometimes when the sub-mirror is
reattached/enabled again.
Since late releases of Solaris 8 you can use UFS snapshots instead.
Using fssnap you will get a special device on which you can use ufsdump.
See man page for fssnap for more and examples.
Make sure you remove the special device once the backup is done.
Oh, and, make sure you have all the necessary patches for fssnap and
ufs, at least on Solaris 8.
