No, it doesn't matter. The Sun recommended settings are heads=64,
cylinders<65536 and sectors variable, regardless of the size of the LUNs.
I believe these are the defaults if you're running the latest firmware
(4.11)

By default, nothing will happy. Nothing at all. You have 3 choices :
* Configure the array to automatically amke the replacement drive a hot
spare (I forget the exact option, but it's in there somewhere)
* Manually make the new drive a hot spare
* Manually do a "copy and replace" back to the original disk, and make the
original hot spare a hot spare again.

Personally I'd recommend one of the first two (I like option 2 myself).
The only time I'd recommend copying teh data back to the original disk if
if you've got some technical reason for doing it. eg, on an SE3310 you
might have your mirrors across the two SCSI buses, so it makes sense to
make sure it's like this afterwards. On the SE3510's (especially if you
dont have an expansion unit) there's zero reason to do it.

No, it's a manual operation.

Hell no. You should only restore NVRAM settings after something has
gone badly wrong. I suspect the manual says you should _save_ the NVRAM
config to disk after replacing the disk. This is something that you should
do after most changes you do on the array to make sure that the "backup"
on the disks is correct.

If you are setting up a 3510, then I'd _strongly_ suggest upgrading to
the 4.11 firmware if the array hasnt' already got it.
