Thanks Dave. Having come from Linux distros, this is either not
necessary or was done for me already. I didn't know this file existed.

This worked for my user account, however, it did not impact the su/root
account. After adjusting my user .profile, I simply did "cp
/home/<username>/.profile ~/.profile"

Shouldn't that have worked?
