I have an Intel box running Solaris 8, x86. I am trying to reset the
password of a user, but I can't login or su to that account using the
new password. This is what I see in the /var/adm/messages.
Jun 28 15:55:49 sssss su: [ID 370151 auth.debug] roles
pam_sm_authenticate, service = su user = xxxxx ruser = ruser not set
Jun 28 15:55:49 ssssss su: [ID 308033 auth.debug] pam_acct_mgmt: error
Permission denied
Jun 28 15:55:49 ssssss su: [ID 810491 auth.crit] 'su xxxxxx' failed for
xxxxxxx on /dev/pts/3
As far as I can tell pam.conf has the default options, no specific
modules installed.
appreciate any help
