Need to move a file system from one 280R to another, the file system is a
5100 external fiber sun array, 10 discs in the front are one meta device
d10, the 10 in the back are d0 and are staying. The front 10 discs are
striped into one big file system. Need to move it off the one box and to
the another 280R.
Trying to find the steps in accomplishing this, the docs are good for
creating and stuff but nothing on moving and keeping it intact. The file
system just contains a bunch of image files [600gig worth] and
spreadsheets. The current 280R is running solaris9, the new box is running
solaris8 [iplanet portal issues with 9 or so sun says, ran fine on 9 till
that java cert in iplanet expired last week and the gateway stopped talking
to the server].
Can I just do a metainit with the same discs and slices. Both 280R's are
identical harware wise and I will just be plugging in the second fiber port
on the array into the second server running sol8. Unmounting the file
system from the first server, do the metainit.
Thanks for any help.
