The short version is "who knows". It's not tested, and not supported.
It's quite possible that there are changes to the firmware that require
changes on the server side, or vice versa. Or it might work. Or it might
not...

For the same reasons as above I can't see this happening. If it did, then
I'd all but guarantee that you'd need to install both patches together
anyway.
