New USB 2.0/Firewire card b0rked system

I'm a n00b and am playing around with Solaris 10.0. Had things working
well until I installed a new firewire/USB 2.0 card. When I boot up I
get a lot of the following:

usba: WARNING 1pci@0,0/pci925,1234@11,2(uhci0): no SOF interrupt has
been received. This UHCI host controller is unusable.

I am able to log in as root, but a lot of commands don't work and I
suspect that there are no mounted filesystems. It might be possible to
install a driver, but I doubt that I could mount the installation
medium. I haven't been able to find drivers anyway. Here is the
output from the relevant lines from "lspci" (Linux):

00:0b.2 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. USB 2.0 (rev 63)
00:0b.3 FireWire (IEEE 1394): VIA Technologies, Inc. IEEE 1394 Host

00:0b.3 FireWire (IEEE 1394): VIA Technologies, Inc. IEEE 1394 Host

In case it is useful, here is the entire output of lspci:

Can anybody help? If it can't be fixed easily, is it possible to
disable this card temporarily to get things working again?
