We probably need more information on this problem.

Using the cureses library implies that the app is for use
in a Character environment , not a graphical environment.

This seems consitent with wanting to run in a dttterm

dtterm is in /usr/dt/bin/dtterm

is /usr/dt/bin in your PATH environment variable.?

Dont you need to start a dtterm terminal emulator first
and then start the program inside the terminal environment ?
