Questions regarding bug 2123602 (mkdir failing in mounted directory)

My trusty V240 running Solaris 10 (kernel Generic_118822-19) does not
allow directories to be created via NFSv4; the problem occurs only
with v4 and only with mkdir (rmdir works just fine), so this looks
like a clear-cut case of bug 2123602...

....*BUT* I *do* have set NFSMAPID_DOMAIN to the same value in
/etc/default/nfs on both clients and server (and all of the machines
have been booted at least once since the change was made).
Now one possible cause of the problem is the fact that the NFS-server
has a minimal passwd-file in the global zone with all the user
accounts living in the zone 'public'; I suspect that the problem with
mkdir and NFSv4 is not tied to the domain name proper but rather that
the handler for mkdir simply fails to fall back on comparing numeric
uids.
This leads to my questions:
1) Can anyone confirm that the problem is due to the mkdir-handler
failing to fall back on comparing the numeric [ug]ids?
2) The bug description for 2123602 mentions 'Integrated in Build:
s10u1_04' but no patch ID; does this mean I have to install an
upgrade release to fix bug 2123602? Or is a patch for S10 2/05
upcoming and if so when?
3) If an official patch is not to be had, would copying the nfssrv
module (/kernel/misc/sparcv9/nfssrv) from the s10u1_04 and
rebooting (or better yet: un- and re-loading the module) likely
succeed or are there changes against 2/05 that have dependencies to
other modules in the s10u1_04 release that make this solution a
no-no? (This is a production machine I really hate to boot, let
alone upgrade, unless neccessary; and yes, I know that changing
package files of type 'f' carries its risks...)
Thank you,
Stefan
