Utter rubbish of course. I dont use XP much but I do have
"left-overs" from the add/remove programs feature. Stuff that the
deinstallation (Remove) was supposed to remove but did not. Directories
and or stale files remain not from anything I added. .. Visible
with WinBlow$ Explorer or regedit but not to Add/Remove.

Not sure I really parse this. What good is uninstalled Solaris
software..
What good is software installed that isnt Solaris...
Never mind.
Anything that was packaged up and presumeably installed with pkgadd
will show up via pkginfo. Sometimes prodreg may extend that.
Ideally anything installed that does not come from Sun should be
installed
with pkgadd - forget about prodreg : >
Its fairly easy to create your own packages but people do not because
its
extra work I suppose. There is no easy way to track this behavior.
So I guess the short answer is no most of the time : >
