Job description:
Purpose:
Provide effective support of Data Services team*s charter to design,
implement, secure and proactively administer enterprise-wide Data and
Scheduling services. Provide technical support for all projects,
processes, resources, service levels and operational procedures as
required enhancing the productivity and satisfaction of our client
community.
Major Accountabilities:
*Perform system and network administration as needed in support of the
Data Services servers.
*Responsible for developing and maintaining backup and recovery
services for all systems in all computing regions.
*Responsible for developing and maintaining all server and system
software service levels.
*Responsible for tools and services required to effectively manage,
monitor, support, secure and provide audit compliance to achieve
defined service levels for backup, data and system recovery, offsite
rotation and Business Resumption.
*Perform and enforce employee and change management activities and
provide an advanced level of day-to-day technical support on supported
systems. Perform second-level Help Desk support for these environments.

*Provide support for all corporate scheduling systems and all related
supporting operational processes.
*Lead, manage and perform project management activities for Data
Services-led projects and sub-projects per System Development Lifecycle
standards.
*Lead and manage projects as assigned to insure successful completion
on time and within budget with minimal supervision.
*Consult with Information Services on requirements, evaluate package
alternatives, implement solutions and provide ongoing Production
operational support for the Data Services environment applications.
*Provide technical consulting and training to enable staff to address
their production and operational issues using available Data Services
software tools.
*Support the Data Services environments via technical support and
network administration.
*Develop, publish and enforce systems architecture standards.
*Provide detailed, professional technical documentation for both
procedures and diagrams on all of the above accountabilities.
*Ensure at least one Data Services staff is thoroughly trained and
always ready to act on your behalf on all duties above.
Skills/Knowledge:
*At least five years of Sun Micro systems hardware experience required.

*At least five years of Sun Solaris,and Veritas NetBackup software
experience required.
*At least five years of hardware configuration and operating system
generation experience required.
