Your terminal [emulator] is set to a different baud rate from
the Sunblade. Try changing baud rate until you see recognisible
characters. 9600 would be a good one to try if you haven't already.
Changing the console baud rate is rather painful -- there are too
many things which think they are responsible for it, and change it
between power on and getting a login prompt.
