Re: latest sol9 recommended broke printing

It is me again. I have found that I could not send either postscript with a2ps nor texte with lp.

The target printer were configured with hppi,the HP printer configurator script for solaris.

I have found in one case (hp 2200n) I needed to delete the spool queue and restart it with model script net_lj4x (I used net_lj4600 before). Then the queue worked again.

I the case of the HP 4600, which used the same model script net_lj4600, it was not sufficient to delete and recreate the spool queu with the hppi script. Still nothing would be printed although the printer received data. It was resolved by specifying the content-type of the print request with option -I of command lpadmin (man lpadmin)
lpadmin -I PostScript,simple -p <printer-queue>

Why, how ?
