I received a print error msg:
Your request 432b-6544 destined for 432b
The job title was: /etc/motd
submitted from: eig3
at: Thu Jun 8 12:40:34 2006
encountered an error while printing on printer 432b.
Printing stopped with an exit code of 1.
Reason for failure:
UX:lp:6 WARNING: cannot read temporary file ""
TO FIX: see if file still exists,
or consult your system administrator;
printing continues
I verified the owner/group of /var/spool/lp/requests/... and ./tmp/... and they are own by lp:lp. The /usr/bin/lp is setuid root. So why can't I print with a normal user and I can with root ? Is there someting of a security feature that prevent setuid programm to actually setuid ?
Thanks
François
