Seems like an overly broad statement. How would you create a startup
script then?
Putting (your own) scripts in /etc/rcX.d is a supported interface for
Solaris. Obviously choosing the same name as an OS supplied file would
create a conflict, but that doesn't sound like the OP's issue.
